  • Polo Seats

    Hi all.

I purchased my polo match as an ex demo car, and apart from it being all hunky dory, it lacks heaight adjustment.

Just wondering if I could purchase height adjustability, etc?

Is it just a base I attach to my current seats?

Further - does anyone know if aftermarket seats, such as recaros would fit in my car? I read on some forums that the MK3 seats will fit in the polo 6n... Will they fit in my car?

    Any help appreciated.

I wonder if MK4 seats would fit?

What's the legal issues associated with removing original seats and replacing them with other seats. If insurance and the car doesnt throw an airbag error, I'd definately put a bucket seat in.

You'll definitely get an airbag light if you replace the seat with a non-airbag seat (you can do a dodgy to get around that though...)

Plenty of legal and safer options though - MK4 GTI seats??

Are they going into a Polo?

Hmm, seems all a little complicated.

I wonder if I can get the height adjustment

No, they were going into another Mk4.

Does the polo have two bolts towards the centre on the base at the front?

Nah, traditional layout - 2 bolts per side.

Polo GTI seats have height adjustment... Why not get them?

They are also an option on all Polos... so you could probably find a seat out of a normal one with height adjustment too.

Slim chance they'd be up for sale secondhand and new from the dealer I'd be charged an arm and a leg. Wish it was that simple or cheap.

So because your model doesn't have height adjustment, does that mean it doesn't have those under seat storage draws?

Correct. It has a load of space under there though.

Wonder if I can just get the base and bolt it up myself.

Or if it comes as one with the seat

It just dawned on me that you might have been talking about the rails themselves. Stick you head down in your front footwell and look towards the back of your car. Front and centre do you see 2 nuts and a plastic clip? This is what secures the seat to the rails...
