Car - 07 Polo GTI
Rim size - 16" stock
New tyre - Bridgestone Potenza Adrenaline RE001
Tyre size - 205/45/16
Tyre Replaced - Continental CCS2
Km's on new tyre - 100km
Thoughts on new tyre - Car doesn't pull left anymore, nice and smooth and quiet on the highway. MUCH quieter on b-grade bitumen. Haven't tested the adhesion limits yet, but very happy thus far.
I have asked at well over 20 tyre places, including Jax Quikfit here in Townsville, Brisbane, and Sydney, and none of them have heard of the Marangoni's. I am keen to get a set for my new rims, but it looks like I will have to settle on something else. I even had the local Bridgstone up here say that he didn't like Italian tyres, so he said I should look at some Pirelli's!!! What a douch.

That's just weird ... I got mine from Jax Quikfit here in Brisbane.
Around $400 is realistic, people have sold them for more, some for less but yeah you'll get a fairly quick turnaround that way. Also www.smartsend.com.au can do the wheels which must be boxed for around 75 to any major capital... or thereabouts anyway..
about 6-7 years ago was changing the tyres for my previous car at a friends (owns a big tyre and battery dealership) anyway he kept recommending the marangoni and telling me they are the best value for money he even told me try them and if you don't like them ill take them back. And at the time i had never heard of them (and he was the sole distributer back home at the time) and they were about 1/4 the price of pirelli and i just couldn't get myself to try them and went for pirelli. Seems like after all he had some insight

Thoughts on new tyre - Great in wet & dry. About the same road noise as the Contis. Tracked them at Morgan Park (Warwick) and most impressed with their handling.
Would I recommend them? - Without a qualm.

Got them fitted on Saturday, and while skatey at first they have had some time to scurb up and now grip much better.
Turn in is vastly improved with no evidence of squeeling even when pushed.
Road noise is similar to stock, but tread pattern lookes much better. They also feel a bit smoother than stock. Also, the sidwall no longer bulges at rest and IMHO they 'sit' a lot better on the car and make it look a bit chunkier (the Conti CS2 tyres always looked like they were flat!!!). Has a sizable rim protector for those close gutter scrapes too
