I just assumed the comment about correcting understeer was referring to the opposite - a dab on the brake under acceleration. I suppose the heel-toe technique could work just as well there too, just swapping pedals?

heel toe is for downshifts, to help rev match/engine braking what ever the need is,
the left foot braking I'm refering to, is mind corner, while you still have you foot on the gas (cause you always need it there through corners, to carry speed, and keep revs up for the speedy exit) and you use the brakes to "bring in" the front of the car. This braking is very minimal, very light. a heavy foot will actually cause the can to brake.
I'm no expert, but this is what I've been told, learn't and gatherd. I've not tired this myself, but I know the theory. or atleast did, I've forgotten the finer details, but remembered the general gist.

That's good to know about the brakes.
The evo is now deep in the 1.07's at WP and the factory Brembos with performance pads and fluid are at their limit. Only get around half a dozen laps before turn 2 gets hairy as the pedal is hitting the floor. I'm only using slotted DBA4000's, but I don't think going to the two piece rotor will have that much of an increase in performance. I only get around 3 laps of EC before it's time to slow down. The car is primarily a road car, so spending 6 grand on some 6pots isn't quite in the budget yet.
Autronic have a FBW braking fix for Subaru's. Not sure if they have any software for VW's.

ok guys back on topic mechanic had the car today went over everything you said and nothing was wrong so the only thing only we can think of is mayb the intercooler is dropping boost pressure like guy reckons
the boost leak scenario is also seeming even further from a possiblity as the dyno graph is smooth not like what u would expect if there was a boost leak
cheers guess im just a little slower than othersOriginally posted by seangtiThe price of the car rarely indicates driver ability/lap time.
