Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    hey guys,

im looking to customise an intake for my car at the moment.

wondering if any of you guys have ever attempted or came across any cold air intake's with a pod filters at the end?

would love to get some ideas etc from people who have done it in the past.

    cheers,

I personally havent done a CAI on the Polo. Most people including myself go for the factory looking Seat cold air intake. Search the forums and you will find lots of info on the Seat CAI.
There are a few Cold air intakes around for Golf's. They look like thay may fit on the Polo but you may (or may not) need to get a smaller battery. I have seen a few made of carbonfibre, so just shop around see what you find.

Depends on which model you have really. I had a custom SRI made for my 1.6L. If you have the GTI, then you'd definately go the SEAT intake (as your trumpet is actually a two piece, unlike the 1.6L). If you search this forum, you should see my previous custom SRI.

Panel filter's in my opinion arent of much use. You still dont get the mid-high end power compared to a pod. However, when you use a pod, you will suffer in the low-mid range. So it's dependant upon what you want at the end of the day.

Pickup. Not power. Thanks for the correction Kai.
