Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    Handy hint :D

    Hi everyone, hope the weekend is going well.

    Just a handy little hint for everyone.

    It bugs the hell out of me if i wash my car, dry it off. Then when i go for a drive an hour or two later all this bloody water pours out of the mirrors and goes all over the window and down the side of the car.

    After you give your car a bubble bath and a rinse off simply fold the mirrors in.
    As soon as you do this, water starts pouring out of the mirrors. Leave it for 5 minutes and whala

    Since ive just made a post about this im guessing everyone would have already know about this haha

    Hahahahahaha...Very cool...That annoys the **** out of me too, but I will defiantly do it next time...Thanks for that!!

      yeah i've noticed that....also from the spoiler and around the spoiler brake light. i just lift up the boot and give a good chamois dry around to stop drips. thanks for the tip on the mirrors, will definitely have to do that next time.

        speed up the drying and blast it with yer compressor air hose

        especially worth it if u travel on dirt rd or driveway after washing . avoid dust sticking to rear of wet car from existing water streaks/drips
        german - english translations esp vw documents!!

        Dismantling 95 Seat Cord'a and 73 campers and 74 dc van !!! Some Mk1 and t2 ant3 gear in my stash,,,
