i thought that would get your attention!!

but seriously, i'm not sure if its been asked before but is it possible for our lovely little beasts to be 4-Motioned?? i'm assuming there has been something sorted out because aren't the S2000 Polo's AWD?

how much would an insane surgery like this cost....any ideas?

    Cheers guys and girls,

    Rhys

Think of a number ... double it ... double it again ... etc... (get the picture?)

Besides ... the S2000 is a very different beast to your standard GTI Pog ... and if rumours are to be believed ... they cost something in the vicinity of $200k+ to prepare for the road.

However, Rhys ... if you've got the dosh ... I'd love a drive.

Yeah that figure is correct for the S2000s, read someone in US got one or is getting one or something. I know what I wouldn't buy with 200k...

I wanted to do this, idea got shot down very quickly when I thought about what needed to be done. I suppose it wouldn't be THAT hard if you pulled the workings of an A3 1.8T Quattro. But they're a 50k car aren't they?

for the money i suppose it's worth getting an R32 and spending several hours/days shopping at APR and other lovely performance shops.

and no...i don't have the dosh, just yet. i just had a few ideas floating around for when i get on full wage in 12 months....4 times what i'm earning now. i know its 12 months but time definitely flies!

Yeah, I'm now getting back into my business work (out of hours from my 9-5 job) so I can pay for my new obsession.

Speaking of which, anyone need a website designed and developed?

There'd be quite a bit of work involved. You'd have to sheet up a driveline tunnel in the floor for the rear diff. Is the Audi 1.8 Quattro engine east/west or north/south configured? There could be problems with physically fitting an awd gearbox in the GTI's tiny engine bay.

Apparently the haldex and tail shaft aren't the issue. It's the floor pan under the boot. You need different suspension mounts and space for the diff to sit.

I looked at what people do to make Golfs AWD, they get the rear half-cut from wrecked R32's and weld a new back into their car.

Mechanically its possible, but its the body that lets you down cost wise.
