Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    APR Downpipe

    Just got my APR ECU upgrade, downpipe, TIP and engine mount fitted.

    Massive improvement over the stock system and... I must say, I love it

    Guy took some photos while the car was up on the hoist, he'll no doubt post them for you to see.

    The sound of the exhaust is a little more grumbly especially when backing off when at high revs.

    Also went for a spin in his Golf GTI to get some lunch, that thing is a BEAST.

    Im glad you enjoy the differences it all makes.

    Just give it a day or two to really take full effect.

    I noticed with the APR program that i didnt get all the power straight away, i noticed an immense difference straight away. But over the next couple hours of driving it changed once again, almost as though the computer was resetting itself and learning new lovely things

    Downpipe makes an awesome difference too doesnt it !


    Now sort your brakes and suspension out

      Already left an XR6 for dead.

      Suspension is coming, just gotta decide which ones I want. I'll leave brakes until I've had a couple months to see how I go, I shouldn't be tracking the car (except for the next driveGTI day), so for general street driving they should do OK, but we'll see.

        You're the first one ( I think ) with the new APR dp. With the new combo you've got, be good to see what you get on a dyno ..There's a dyno day coming up in Brisbane isn't there?

          there is? please more details on this, would love to make the trip up for that one !!

          it would be good to see what your new set-up makes, definitely be a teaser for people to pull out their wallets

            Yep, first one, they only just got them in.

            I do know about the dyno day, Guy told me about it, I think he's interested too.

            I'll try get along to it, I'm interested just as much as everyone else is (probably more, as I've already paid my money for the upgrade lol).
