  • Polo 9N 1.4-16V conversion from 75HP (BBY) to 100 HP (BBZ)

Greetings from Polo 9N owner in Indonesia

I'd like to know exactly what parts are needed to convert Polo 9N 1.4-16V from 75HP (BBY engine) to 100 HP (BBZ engine)?
By comparing those 2 engines from EPC, I found the difference on intake manifold, throttle body and fuel injector as follow:

    Parts name BBY BBZ
    Intake manifold 036129711DP 036129711FG
    Throttle body 036133062L 036133062M
    Fuel injector 036906031M 036906031L

Is there any other parts needed? Does anyone ever try this conversion?

    Cheers,

Never heard of anyone doing this but for sure you'll be needing an ECU as well.

      Thanks for your comment.

You're right, the ECU p/n of BBY engine is 036906034DD and the BBZ engine is 036906034AK.

Well, this idea is not new actually.
I did the same conversion on my BMW E36 323i M52 2500cc 24V following the advice on bimmer forums around the world.
By replacing the intake manifold and throttle body from M50 2500 24V, the power gain is 20HP.
Both M50 & M52 2500cc 24V have similar internal engine components, they differ only on those 2 parts.

      Cheers,
