Geez accidents happening aplenty this week, because I just saw a Red Polo GTI with black rims smack into a MR2 on Wednesday just outside where I live on Sturt Street Southbank. complete writeoff, no one was injured.


I agree with Spec83, be transparent as much as possible when your not at fault. and yes you are entitled to choose your repairer quotes especially when dealing with the other parties insurer.



Sorry to hijack but anyone know the best insurer for a modified polo GTI and being over 25yrs of age?

I just got mine back from the panel beaters today.

I'm going tomorrow to take out the Seat intake and K&N filter and put the stock ones back in but I will probably loose the chip just waiting to hear back from GIAC whether they can re chip the new for free or at a discount.

I got my re-newal on Wednesday and the insurance has gone up over $200 in a single year... Bit of talking on the phone bought it down to a more reasonable $80

Just curious, My renewal is $746 with NRMA - 26, no fines ever and no at-fault crashes ever and car locked in garage... What's everyone else like??

I literally just changed my policy from RACQ to NRMA about 20min ago. My dad just cracked the windscreen on my car, and I rang up to find out how to replace it. It was going to cost me $400 for my non-removable Performance Car Excess to get the windscreen...I thouht this was a joke, and said no dice.
I then rang up NRMA. They were offering $1049 a year(up from $798 with RACQ), but with a single excess, 65% NCB, all mods covered(so long as the car passes rego, its covered), agree value, choice or repairer, and endless windscreen coverage(all windows) at no extra premium.
The extra cost dosn't bother me too much, but I know all of my mods are covered now, so I don't have to worry.

I'm with Shannons......way ahead of everyone else, (for an over 30, rating 1. dual policies*)...$638.91. Most others were quoting $1K+, even GIO, when I also had Home&Contents with them.....not good enough.

*Now I have my Home&Contents with Shannons too & got treated with some respect (loyalty discount).

did they own up the smashing your door or did you just find it that way? ..... not owning up to doing damage to someone elses car is right up there with some of the most a$$h@le acts you can do to someone.
