Anyone had any experience Towing with there polos?

What can be towed? Buying a Jetski tomorrow and want to know my options

if its a heavy ski, just don't depend on the handbrake holding it all together at the bottom of the ramp with the engine still going. when you get out of the car and un-weight the front, small front wheel drivers slide. turn the car off and put it in 1st so that its 4 wheel braked when stationary.

For the OP those weights INCLUDE the trailer as well.

Personally I wouldn't tow anything with a POLO especially a 7sp DSG model.

Wow they be some pretty low numbers.
Usually unbraked is 1/2 the weight of the car
Braked is equal to weight of car.

But a Polo on a slippery boat ramp with a trailer and ski ? You just gonna wheel spin and end up in the drink.
Might be OK on the road.

I've seen a skip behind a Golf on the road, no idea what the ramp experience was like.

Braked towing can be a lot more than the vehicles weight EG Landcruiser Kerbweight 2660KG (approx.) Max Towable weight 3500kg.

Of course the towing capacity includes the trailer weight. However in this instance a jet ski trailer isn't going to weigh much. Common 6x4 box trailers are around 200-250kg.

Towing capacity is based on a number of factors not just whether the car can pull it.

Hey Guys.

ive thought about these issues to.

So the total weight including the trailer would be max 400kg.

the Ramp is my only issue. im confident with the Road.

Polo may be up for sells soon. As pretty much standard ( apart from coilovers, exhaust and tune)
