hmm ok, might keep my eye out for one on ebay etc. I've got a TIP on the way (ebay cheapie as recommended by Gavin) so will be fitting that once semester ends too! Did you go with the Forge kit of the seatsport cooler and custom piping?
I've went SeatSport as Gavin and Anthony spoke very highly of them and from a dyno day earlier this year (or was it last year...), they did back to back tests on a dyno with various cars and set-ups, measuring actual and requested boost, inlet temps, etc, etc, and the SeatSport performed very well. THS cores are near identical, but I believe thicker. I went with custom piping, again with Gavin's input. Gavin may have some excess piping kits available, with the equipment all tried and tested by a handful of us.

I have some MAP sensor pipes, but it wouldn't take me long to get the rest of the pipe work in if requested.
incremental power gains won't make you fast, except for on freeway onramps.
go suspension & federal RSR's.
All ready have upgraded springs and shocks, RSB, LCA bushes and bigger brakes so am sorted in that department . Have had RSRs and don't really think they are worth the money IMO.

I will definitely be requesting the pipe work in the near future, am looking at getting a dual pass IC from a JustJap (do a lot of nissan/toyota stuff) for a decent price, and I've used their parts before so can vouch for the quality. It's slightly different to the seatsport in dimensions, but I think it should fit up pretty well. Actually, on that point, Is your front bar still off the car Gavin? I'd love to take some measurements of how the seat sport sits compared to the one i'm looking at, so I can work out how different the plumbing will be.
Exhaust should be done next week so will let you know how it goes

at the time i got the feds, they were within $20 of every other run of the mill, usual suspect tyre, and far less than high performance stuff from name brand companies.
could i ask which tyres you thought out-shone the feds (not R spec, mind - something dailyable and grippy from cold)?
(not in a "boo hoo you shat on tyres i thought were good" sense, but in a "please tell me your experience with good, grippy-as-hell tyres" sense)
Achilles ATR sport. I know there are a lot of mixed opinions on these tyres, but i've been running Achilles for about 3 years now, they are great in the dry, not far behind the RSRs, incredible in the wet, have very good tread wear, and are ridiculously cheap (paid under $400 last time I had four fitted to the POG)

I had a custom down pipe made up, i used the flange for k03 from the 42DD website, fits perfectly. And from memory its close to 3.5inch , definitely not 2.5 at the turbo. Alternatively, u can always reuse your old flange off the old down pipe, just get the bloke to saw it off.

It is but hopefully not much longer, I am planning having the engine in saturdayish as long as I get the turbo tomorrow. If you want to come up, call or text me.

Hi guys I have also been running the Achilles ATR sports for the first time. I am pleased with them. My wife says they are noisey on turn in, true that is. I think i woud go a softer grippier tyre next time. Yes love the value and performance, just as chrishelliwell said. Cheers Al

I've been hearing a lot of good feedback about the ATRs lately. At less than $400 for all four I think I might just have to give them a go
So I have fitted the downpipe and have had the stage 2 tune (as well as the SAI delete for free!) software installed thanks to Harding Performance. The car has changed a fair bit; it's slightly louder when giving it the boot, first gear has become utterly useless (it just spins from about 3000 rpm) and 2nd, 3rd and 4th are noticeably quicker. Looking forward to seeing how it goes at lakeside on the weekend!!

Good to hear, 2nd gear will be as useful as 1st when the road is damp It's probably time to search for better air intake (pod or pd160) and consider the FMIC (i recall it's on the to-do list). 30mins of lapping generates quite a level of heatsoak, particularly in these warmer months, I find short shift best to manage heat, so shifting at 5-5500 keeps the car on song and heat soak better under control. By measuring in gear acceleration I've found that revving beyond 6000 rpm is esentially a waste anyway as the car is quicker to shift up a gear beyond that. At lakeside I never use 2nd gear either. Enjoy
