The Ford Focus has this feature: Tail lights come on when you open the hatch!

How difficult would it be to have this happen on our Polos? Cheers Al

I have not given this any thought so it may have issues but linking them to the boot light may work. Could cause a huge current draw having all the interiors on and tails.

If your running led tails then It should be a nice low draw. Not totally familiar with the 9n polo but if they don't have the bulb diagnostics like the 6r there should be no issue. Depends wether your boot light is on a separate switch. The 6r interior lights come on when you open the boot. You would need some diodes to stop the interior lights from coming on when you turn on your tail lights though if it's the same on a 9n or just install your own pressure switch taking the power from the boot light.

Could you use a product similar to this to light up the hatch area if the hatch is open and the boot light is on?
