  • 034 Motorsport Intake manifold

    Hi all,

can't believe how cheap this is for the R&D and quality

That big plenum looks really good.

The injector bosses would be REALLY good if someone could come up with a tune to control a secondary injector rail set like on the MkVII Golf GTi

I've been waiting for a very long time for 034 to release this - it means their longitudinal verision shouldn't be far off....

Good for BT, I'm guessing its largely pointless for standard snail flow?

It should improve air distribution for any turbo setup (or even N/A). Whether it is cost effective without more boost is another point.

Not sure if you read the R&D but this is designed mostly for stock snails and hybrids. It has a very small plenum size compared to the more popular big names at only 1.85L. SEM is 2.1 iirc and has the best track record in the 300-400hp range. The IE is for really BT applications as is the Excessive plenum for the 500+ range.

X2 would be keen to get one of these. +20hp on a gt2860 is pretty impressive for just an intake manifold

Saw it on facebook a few days ago and was straight onto Gavin about it

I told him i thought it looked cheap, like the chinese ones some JDM guys use.
The power gains are not great for a small turbo, maybe if you had 400hp. I am still more interested on the SEM or the Intergrated Engineering ones

Oh and i was looking at the first post where it made less than 5hp on a stock turbo car

That's peak power mate, look at the increase under the curve and it's right across the rev range in both power and torque. For a stock K03s on crap fuel I think this is substantially better as it's not robbing power or torque from any other part of the rev range. Not to mention the peak torque increase of 16.9nm.

And unfortunately you won't physically fit the IE manifold in the Polo. It's massive even with it's short runners.

Ok looks like $90 for shipping And with the dollar the way it is we are all better off getting our own to avoid duties.

I'm sure it'd still be a good idea to grab a couple of these together, especially if a few Brisbane boys want one. They didn't seem to fussed about helping me avoid duties on the wavetrac I just ordered... The more I look at this manifold the more it appeals to me. Seems like the best option for people aiming for 300-400hp

Oh and Anthony, you sure another 16nms of torque is good for you considering the very stock state of your rods
