The other day my girlfriend managed to somehow turn on the driver side parking light/tail light - a function loved by Euros cars. I couldn't turn it off and couldn't work out how she turned it on.
I am assuming this is the 'park' light when the engine is off - its controlled by the indicator. You turn your right side on the same way as you would turn your right indicators, and same story for left hand side. Turn it off the same way you turn off the indicators.
Definitely handy when parking on a narrow street - I think it is law in some European countries to leave your lights on hence the feature.

I didnt even know this car has that feature. Does it run on a backup battery or does it shut them off when the battery starts going below a certain voltage? There must be a type of system fitted to the car to prevent the euro parking lights from draining the battery flat.
theres 'normally' a beep when leaving lights on and removing the key.. so using the park-light facility is a concious decision which kinda negates the 'wasn't My fault ' scenario
