Anyone measured this? Ill buy one shortly, either the Whiteline or the Ultraracing one, just wondering if anyone has any objective or subjective data on these.

Re: Sway bar torsional resistance
Would be interesting. I want one for my octy and whiteline have a 24mm adjustable and 22mm non adjustable... Keen to know the differencewww.TheRapidWrench.Melbourne

Basically, a torsion bar is a coil spring that is straightened, so what you want to compare is the force required to twist it. The manufacturers should have values that are either kg (or N) per mm the mm is how much one end of the sway bar moves relative to the other end, or kg (or N) per degree where the degrees is the angle of one end of the sway bar compared to the other end.Originally posted by Bullet Fast View PostAnyone measured this? Manufacturers will have this information but may not necessarily give it out, but is the only way to compare different sway bars.

Sway bar torsional resistance
That's why I ask if its been measured. Whiteline would know, but the educated guess of desired rate would have driven product design originally. How far production has drifted from that point you'd never know. Steel alloys, tempers, qa/qc etc. Whether they have a production tolerance, another unknown - or even whether they are checked at all!
They'd never publish this information because of how expensive it would be to ensure the product meets the specification every time. Plus, for a company that may/may not put a bit of money into r+d, it would allow a competitor to short cut the process, allowing them to produce a similar product with less, maybe no, development costs attached. The Chinese have been doing this forever...

But Whiteline do have their load charts on their web site giving the information you want.Originally posted by Bullet Fast View PostThat's why I ask if its been measured. Whiteline would know
Ultra Racing are more coy about theirs on their web site. If they are not willing to provide the information if you contact them, then look elsewhere.

I have the gear to check stock against something else, but I end up too eager to get the job done to stop and quantify mods. Still haven't published fuel pump data... And too cheap to buy everything to evaluate what is what. At the very least white line would have sufficient data to make extremely intuitive guesses.
I think it's a safe bet.
