Wanted - Gear Selector Cable

Hi Guys,

I have owned my 2008 Polo GTI since new and today I broke my Gear Selector Cable, I managed to limp to the local mechanic (I live in Mackay QLD) in 3rd gear and after some phone calls it seems the part they need is on back order until 1st October from Germany. (approx $180)

Does anybody have a spare or know of a few places to call? I would be happy to just get the cable and then get the local guys to fit it for me.

Any help is appreciated.

The mechanic ended up re-crimping the cable and adding some extra joiners or so to the cable so that it would not move nor get stripped out anymore.

So far the selection has been firm and sturdy. Certainly beats waiting a month for a new cable.

Anyway at least you guys know I got it sorted in the end.
