GTI polo going for 26,990...How much did you actually paid for yours?
Just spoke to Denlo at Parra and they said if they could beat Liverpool's $32K it wouldn't be by much. "That's a very good price, the margin on the Polo is small etc."
I mentioned that I know of people purchasing for under $30K and he said it would only be on corporate sales. Basically no chance under $30K according to him.
Maybe at the end of the month would be a better time to try and haggle?
I got Black, Leather and 17s for $31,392 in January 2008 for a 11/07 build, 12/07 compliance.
Take 1.5-2k for the wheels off that and you're under 30k.
Firstly you have shown enough interest so they are convinced you are going to buy then they will talk price more seriously. Otherwise they will think you are just wasting their time.
Then see what their best offer is if its still $32k then try get them to drop it to what you think is a fair price. They will usually give you a couple of hundred off and thats about it. If your not happy walk away, take your time, they will call you back in a few days or a week. If they dont call you back then go else where.
Or you can play them on each other they all want to make a sale. If Parra give a price of $31,500 then go back to Liverpool and ask if they can do better and go backward and forward till you get a good price.
Just take your time and dont get upset if they kick you out. If they do kick you out it just means negotiations are over for the time being.
When I bought mine they initially didnt give me a price I wanted. After a test drive we negotiated and they said either take it at this price or you dont get it. I walked out and a few days later they agreed, over the phone, to drop the price by another $1,500~.
Hi all was hoping to go in and get a GTi this weekend, anyone know any good dealership i should try in Melbourne?
Hoping for Black+sunroof+leather+ipod adaptor and maybe 17"rims for around the $31k mark preferably less...am I dreaming or do think it's achievable?
Not South Yarra!!!! They are very rude and the service manager is horrible to deal with. I got mine from Camberwell and have nothing but praise for the customer service and experience I had through them.

Probably dreaming as they are unlikely to have one in stock which means they won't be in any rush to sell one like that. But go nuts, let us know how you go.
yeah leasaunce its likely impossible. Volkswagen dont go crazy with the discounting so that our cars have SOME resembelance of resale come time to move it on (unlike holden, ford etc)
there was a late model second hand in nowra with leather/roof for $26k or something, but if that isnt sold by now i'll eat my hat
9N3 Polo GTI - 91 MkII GTI - 16 B8 Passat 132tsi Comfortline
Past - 14 MkVII GTI, 9n3 Polo GTI, Mk5 Golf GTI, Mk6 Golf 77tsi, Mk6 Golf 90tsi, Mk2 Golf GTI, Mk3 Golf VR6.

got some news.... went to the VW dealership. Took a test drive, pretty nice car, way better than my old Echo LOL...
took the blue gti for a test drive, with leather (nice n heat warmers were nice as well), price $32,000ish. with 300km on the clock.
there is the red one with 200km on the clock for $31ish..
anyway i told them i wanted to get a white one, best price $26,990 inc on road cost, dealer fees,etc... (so pretty much $26,990 DRIVEAWAY PRICE) brand new and they should get it in 2 weeks time, need to put $1,000 down payment. I know some people got theirs for $26,000-990 with window tinting and ipod adaptor...
so what do you all think??
Brand new Polo gti $26,990 driveaway , good deal or not? (offered them $25,000 but theyre like no way) might ask them if they can throw in free extras

good deal i say considering the time of year, especially if its brand new/current compliance. if it were possible to go lower, i don't think it would be by any substantial amount.
corporate plug program?? what's that? (last month, before the tax break, they were giving $26,990 driveaway, but they're willing to do it for me.)
im using the car as a personal use, so nah that was the best deal. I was kinda shocked to find out the new car outside on the showroom (300km on the clock), and they're asking $30,000ish. while brand new one from the factory is only $27,000.
this was my first dealership i went to, but im guessing i wont get any much lower than $26,990...
