look on the back on the invoice/contract you signed. it's mostly written there. but if memory serve right, it's 7 days?

just did a search on google. according to "Motor Car Traders Act 1986 - SECT 43"

        (1) A purchaser (not being a motor car trader or a body corporate) under an
agreement for the sale of a used motor car or an off-trade-premises sales
agreement of any motor car may, at any time before the expiration of three
clear days after the purchaser signs the agreement, terminate the agreement by
giving to or serving on the motor car trader or an agent of the motor car
trader notice in writing to the effect that the purchaser terminates the
        agreement.
(1A) For the purposes of subsection (1), a clear day does not include any day
        that is-

        (a) a Saturday or a Sunday; or

        (b) a day that is wholly or partly observed as a public holiday throughout
        Victoria.

          • Price of POLO

Hi there.. bit annoyed now reading the prices for the POLO.

just signed up for POLO GTI Candy ass white std interior with tint for $29,700 drive away (built 08 plated 08 as no 07 models left). I thought I could do better being end of year ect. but as it turns out there are no white ones left so dealer can't supply until after financial year closes ergo not as good a deal as one could get. I also tried private fleet cas (search in google) for best price and VW dealer beat it. But even so I think that one can't make good deals when there are no cars to hurry up and sell.

So if you want a good deal and you know what versions of cars are still available then you could probably get it cheaper.

            • triple check with these private fleet people, if thats a novated lease she MAY be quoting you an EX GST price.

IMO to get that kinda price, you'd have to be qualifying for the top level of fleet discount while theres a polo gti discount campaign going on.

i paid similar to your current price on regular fleet

              • Hey guys,

New here. I am test driving my mates Polo GTI this weekend and regardless of the outcome, I think I will be purchasing myself one of these cars.

I know I may have just missed the end of financial year sales, but are the prices quite standard on the Polo ? I mean how likely are they to take of the dealer delivery charge (which is just a bull5hit charge considering all they do is fill it up with petrol, give it a wash and drive it from the yard to you ahha)

Really looking at a black/white with leather option so $31.5 - $32k with ORC.

Which would be the best Sydney dealer to check out. I will probably try to check out as many of them this Saturday if possible but most likely will only be able to make 2 at most.

                Thanks

Since you've missed end of financial year sales, I'd be waiting til the end of this month. With the luxury car tax, dealers will have one of the lowest months ever because everyone bought their $57k+ cars last month. This takes out a few VWs which means their sales will be down on usual monthly targets.

I paid $31,392 for black with leather and 17s. So I'm sure you can do A LOT better than that price you've said. I'd personally be aiming nothing over $29k, even a fair chunk under that wouldn't be unusual.

I agree, you really shouldn't be paying any more then maybe $30K. I paid $32K back in April 06 for white with leather, so for you to pay the same in 2008 is not on.

                    • Cool thanks guys, I was just working off the RRP's so I did not want to sound so optimistic LOL.

I will gun for under $30k because it sure seems that it's reasonable.

Which dealerships in Sydney do you recommend ?

However I reckon close to work or home and trying to get to know the dealer and service manager well. Also have a think bout servicing at the dealer or specialist mechanic.

                        Cheers

                            Let me guess... Austral?

The lowest price they could do for me AFTER my trade was $2000 MORE than Highway Auto got mine too before they took my trade-in car.

If I remember correctly Austral said $33,500 after trade-in (with leather fitted afterwards - no seat warmers). I ended up paying $31,392 before trade in (which gave me around $1800 from memory). So I saved around $4000 by driving 30-40kms further.

NICE !!!!!!!!!! Shame that's obviously not in Sydney ..

Is the cloth interior respectable compared to leather .. I don't particularly like leather .. I'm sure it would help with re-sale later on too ... The tartan skirt look is not quite my thing ... but I guess I need to see it in the flesh before I can comment ..
