Well done man, you wont regret your purchase. I suggest calling it GTI as well, not GTi - VW made the original GTI so be proud of the badge

Its good getting the car on a Friday - gives you the whole weekend to enjoy the car - the wait will kill you though!

Just 1 question, are you sure it's an 08? They aren't built yet

The MY08 model is actually 2007. Look at the compliance plate, it will probably be stamped last year.

Thanks all, you are probally right, it would be an 07 model...

I was simply saying that incase you were paying for an 08 and being given an 07 which would be considered 1 year old already. Just making sure you aren't getting ripped off by sneaky talk.

Yeah, i see what you mean, the dealer told me it was an 07 build but with 08 compliance plates, which covers me for a new 08 model if it gets ripped!

yet another Polo GTI owner.....lovin it!

well done mate, perfect choice of car is all i can say!

one thing i am happy about is that these little beauties have been out since early 06/late 05 (correct me if i'm wrong) and there still isn't a swarm of them on the roads. i suppose you have to have a good sense of style and class to buy one. i probably see a polo GTI every 3-5 days (and i really look out for them). i really appreciate that, i hope it means a good resale value for years to come.

I can go a month without seeing another Polo GTI - unlike its bigger brother which seems to be the car of choice in the CBD.

But they are becoming more common, seems like people are catching onto what a great car they are

I saw 3 (red, silver, blue and mine-black) in the same carpark as me the other night. Along with 4 Golf GTIs and about a million normal Golfs. Was in the ritzy part of Brisbane.

Mine was the best, only one with leather and 17s... silly standard ones

Yeah - Brisbane is full of VW's.

In traffic you can often have one behind you, a couple in front and a few either side.

Every day I see countless Golf GTI's, & standard Golfs, at least 2 or 3 R32's and quite a few lesser Polo's. A GTI probably every other day. Plus plenty of the other 'family' orientated models
