Hey i too would be really keen to find out what LSD could fit the polo GTI,
My gear box code is HWY and in ELSAWIN its stated as an 02RE,
Now the mk4 golf had an 02J? How diferent are the 2?
Whats involved with installing a diff and does any one know of one thats designed for the polo box?
Guy could you help?
What problems did you have fitting one to your polo and what do i need to find out?
Ring gear size ect.
I can remember a post about it along time ago have done a search or 2 but cant find it.
Cheers Rob.
Pretty sure Guy Harding had a Peloquin on his before he sold all the gear to Eddy. Try either of them. (All I know is ... driving Eddy's car 'spiritedly' through some nice twisties ... you never get the feeling you're going to loose traction in any direction. )
guys your money would be better spent keeping the car flat so you can get a more equal distribution of traction. ie: swaybars and coilovers. then if you've still got so much power that traction is a real issue THEN look at an lsd otherwise you'll be wasting your money. an lsd can't defy the laws of physics.
That Eddy is a lucky boy
I think its a very important part.
Last year i was in a hill climb in Hobart and my good mate was too with a stock integra type R DC2.
Straight line the polo is quicker but just could not set a quicker time in the climb than him. I really think apart from the chassie the LSD helped alot.
Not many ppl have gone this option and it surprises me.
Not overly expensive when a chip is about the same price!
Whats a chip worth if u cant take advantage of the power through a corner.
Cheers Rob

This is very true too but the step after coils i think would be an LSD.
Just trying to do some reaserch into who makes them and whats out there.
It could have either 112mm or 114mm ring gear (seen Polo's with both), so pull the gearbox apart first. - We keep both in stock to solve this problem. Don't forget you also need to manufacture the Shims to suit as VW / Audi don't stock any in the country!
