20yr old male with clean record. driving since 2004. leather trim option with estimated purchase price of 30,000 including onroads. they gave me a 50% no claim discount as well.

I had:
22yr old male, driving since 2003 (2nd January)
Tinted windows, leather trim and factory 17" options
Purchase price of $31,392
The discount applies as I was already with AAMI, which is the same deal as my parents being with them.
Either I got a good deal or you live in an extremely high risk suburb.FOR SALE

jfive,
I did the same as you and came from a 2000 SSS Pulsar to a Candy White GTI with leather back in June.
The Polo is a good step up from the SSS (and I loved my SSS!!) in terms of quality & power delivery.
The only thing that I had issues with was going from a 5 door hatch to a 3 door but that was a small thing...couldn't be happier with the Polo.
Planning to get it APR'd as soon as I convince myself that the money wouldn't be better off for a more practical purpose

good choice of car jfive....and if you get a silver one, good choice of colour
i've found having a silver one that it always looks clean which is great.
as mentioned before, these have not been around long enough to know a reliability over 100,000kms, but there are plenty of MKIV Golf GTI's getting around (not to mention old Audi TT's etc.), which leads me to believe that the engine is a little toughy. i'm confident that VAG would have worked out the creases by now seeing as this engine has been used in several cars by VAG for a while now.
all the best with it, let us know how your test drive/purchase goes!

cliffo: I actually don't mind the 3 door, I used to have a series 3 Rx7 before the SSS but had to get rid of it when my son was born as a baby seat wouldnt' fit in the back
Rhys: Yeah silver is a great colour.. My rx7 was silver and always looked clean. My SSS pulsar is black which always looks dirty
Will let you know how i go with the test drive. Am going to try the dealership at Springwood as its the closest to my work.Current Ride: White Polo GTI MY08
