  • New N75 valve: 06a906283e revised version

    Hi guys,

I am not sure how many of you experimented with different N75 valves... I was told by Revo a couple of years ago to try a different or new valve as my power and torque were fluctuating from around 4000-6000rpm. The curves were like small waves although I couldn't feel it myself. I forgot about it and today replaced with a new version of our factory N75.

Although its a replacement (not a different version but has new part number as per title) the car feels very different. It doesn't seem to boost as early as it used to but smoothly climbs up to the peak boost. I am going to take it out later this evening for a quick fang but car feels completely different. Not bad or good so far in traffic, I am sure this was fitted in correct orientation as it boosts to 24psi like it did before.

Anyone had an experience with the new N75?

Gone for a drive quickly - I am using Yokohama Advan A07 (superceded by A0 known as road legal semi-slicks.

Boost peak (on my gauge) is at 25psi on 3rd / 4th / 5th gear. Feels that the boost starts on come slightly later range of RPM and holds on quite well. Previous version that I had seems to come on with bit of surge and gets off steam.

With ESP off - I am wheel spinning all over the place with 2nd and 3rd on up hill.

I gave Forge 007p a quick light clean too (it was reasonably clean).

Hopefully there will be another chance to do another dyno at some stage....

What spring do you have in the 007 mate, blue??

I remember your tune always made a heap of boost and power but to overpower decent semi's like that is next level Must be cold over the pond too!

Hey guys - K03s still yes on 4bar FPR REVO Stage 2.
I think on Dyno it seems to read around 23psi on their computer. It's nice and cool here 12 degrees celcius - dry too.

I just put a shim with my yellow spring! Not sure to go to blue.

It makes very good torque. Feels gruntier than dad's F10 BMW 535d (600nm) - but I am sure it must be the light weight...

Yeah I was surprised at the amount of wheel spin (on going not just a chirp with 2nd gear) from about 3500rpm to 6000rpm... all the way through - I am not sure if it's due to the different distribution of boost.

It does feel slightly slower off boost for it to build than before though.

Reason for changing the N75 was from this dyno as per advice from Revo tech from UK.

It would be interesting to do a boost log with vcds/vagcom with the new valve.

Would be best to do before and after on the same day, to see what's different. Can overlay them on one graph.

I have to take people taking about spinning in 3rd (or 2nd) with a grain of salt (on stock snail and decent suspension hardware). That is say that if you've uncovered some tuning magic then I'm in, but i don't see that much power being added (i tried an MBC which should allow 100% boost), but the timing is where the torque is born.

I run the 008 backwards, supposed to hold any boost.

Glad you're enjoying it, have not heard much from you in a while.

Has it been on a dyno?

                        Hey noone,

long time no see too. I haven't done much to the car at all so I have been reading and not doing much.
Only thing I considered doing was Jabbasport in box cone filter - but I am not sure how much gain I will get from this - as I think the restriction is still with PD160 intake.

3rd gear wheel spin is only slight incline on full throttle - and it's not like 2nd gear wheel spin which I need to back off throttle to keep the car straight.

I will try to record it on GoPro when I get time and post it up somewhere. I run Polybushings / Eddy's cradle bolts / H&R springs with Whiteline sway bars front and back.

I will try to log the boost at some stage - I do have a boost log from the previous N75 valve - but it was 2 years ago at even cooler temperature.

                          Cool.

I don't hit 24 psi (or 23), so something in your setup is working (or not in mine). APR was more conservative with the boost than CC again, 20 was a spike.

You might find that the shocks are a little flogged which is not helping with traction, I know that mine died fast when I ran them with H&R's but YMMV.

I'd be interested to see your MAF measurements on full boost, will give us a rough idea of the torque you're getting.

                            Noone / and others,

can you recommend me which ones to log please?? if you can give me the numbers - would be much appreciated!

My shocks are probably little flogged - but only been on the car for 25000km - hopefully not too much.

I am really trying to find something that gives me comfort and handling - but not easy to get one in NZ. Especially if I go coil over way - I need to get a limited vehicle certification which costs another $500 (for transport agency) on top of parts + installation.

I am not sure - why the boost is reasonably hard with REVO. Even with Stage 1 I was getting 22psi on dyno. I get consistent 24-25psi peak on my gauge (electric) which obvious slowly tapers off over RPM.
                            06 Polo GTI - REVO Stage 2 = 140kw @ wheels.
06 Golf GTI - Bluefin Stage 1 blacked out with ED30 theme, leather, xenon, etc.

                              A full set of logs would be 002 031 099, 003 020 022, 003 115 118, with 032 111 at idle. Do the others from 1500 revs to the redline.

                              Cheers
