Rear brake (256mm) upgrade

I'm considering doing the rear brakes on the Polo for a few reasons
- better braking
- reduced wear on the front components
- looking awesome (well, better)

This would match the 312 setup I run in the front.

Seems the Audi TT 225 kit is bolt up, which I can get for under 350 (used but usable pads and rotors).

Thoughts?

Anthony (VWindahouse) has the bigger rear set-up. Give him a nudge to add some input. When I drove his car after a track session the brake feel was far better than mine. Though that's also attrubted to braided lines, high temp fluid, etc. I think he was running the same pads as I was, though me on standard sized rotors.

Haha that they do! Well worth it mate.

Had the rears on before the Brembo's (when Sean drove it a little) and they really help keep the rear of the car composed under heavy braking situations and they definitely take front end dip away you must have from the big 312mm front and OEM rear set up.

I've had a few dealings with a mechanic / scrapper in the UK, if you are looking for parts, give him a go: LuxuryCarSpares@hotmail.co.uk

In this case, I happened to ask him if he had what I wanted, in this case he did and does good postage for low cost. Costing me 110 pounds for the rear calipers, carriers, pads, rotors and dust guards, then 90 pounds in freight. By the time Paypal does a dodgy currency conversion, its a little under 340 pounds.

hi guys , I got a full set of mk4 r32 discs and calipers, what rear carriers are you guys using?

I think you need the same (but please check), from a Mk1 Octavia VRS, TT non quattro, 20th anniv. mkiv golf and a few others.

I had a go at modifying the carriers today, was quite unsuccessful. Going to need the correct ones, not the awd and a spacer (unless you can grind the rotors down by a mm or 2.
