Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • 9n Heated seats always on

Ok I have searched and can't find the answer
    It's a 05/6 model polo Gti
I have read problems about them not working but for some reason mine feel like there always on and can't turn them off. The drivers side is not so bad but I've noticed the passenger seat gets very warm

Thought it could be the switch playing up and I thought of just pulling the fuse to disconect them but my manual says its the number 32 fuse but that is the brake lights but even testing it with the fuse out the seats still work

Has anyone else had this problem or know of a way to fix it? Or is there a plug underneath the seat for it I can just unplug or is it connected with the airbag plug or something?

Any advise would be nice thanks

Pretty sure they run through a relay. Can'[t tell you any more though. Google a wiring diagram for any VW with heated seats, that would tell you. VW don't re-invent wheels usually.

I'd be surprised if it's not the same part number relay across the board too.
