9n3 coolant change

Whats the best way to do this? Engine cold? Or engine warm so themostat is open?

If possible I don't want to undo any hoses, just use the radiator drain valve. Is this possible?

I've got 10 litres of G12++ with 50% distilled water ready to go in. I think the capacity is about 6.5 litres.

Comments from anyone's experience most welcome.

do it with a hot engine (don't burn yourself!) you won't need 10L of G12++!!. cant think off the top of my head if the 9N has a drain valve or not. Think it does, so yes just drain from there. you will only need about 2 bottles of G12++ and top up the rest with water, should be about another litre or so.. you will be no where near 6.5L as you never fully drain the whole system unless you stripped the whole engine and coolant system.. fill it until its at the top level and then take it for a trip around the block and you might just need a little bit more if it drops...

Thanks for that. The 9n3 does have a drain valve under the radiator. The G12 ++ and water is already mixed 50% to account for Canberra's winter temps (!) and the 10 litres is intended for 2 cars.
