I have one, no ground clearance problems and the N series is great for attaching a hose (also no clearance problems). changing is easy and you can do it with the engine/oil boiling hot so it all runs out. I too like the idea of a magnetic drain plug but have opted for a rare earth neodymium magnet on the end of the oil filter, keeps any magnetic filings in the end of the filter and you can cut it open with a bandsaw after changing to se if its picked up anything - best of both worldsRed 2006 Polo GTi : Forge Splitter - TIP - ITB - Forge Front & Rear Strut Bars - Dash Cubby - Fumoto Valve - Full Milltek Exhaust - PD160 Intake - K&N Panel - ECS Stage 1 Clutch - Seat RCA Bushes - APR Stage 1+

I ordered and received one. When I get my car back, (next Friday) I'll install at the first oil change.

Just make sure that the magnet(s) stay attached without moving, especially when you're removing the filter, otherwise all the magnetic debris caught on the other side of the metal canister will drop of and beacuse tehy're now magnetic, they will stick to engine movig parts causing excessive wear.
About to run a motor in. Would be a good time to buy one.
Thanks.

Howdy Folks
Just fitted my Fumoto Drain Vavle Part number 14mm-1.5 F-106N with Plus adapter:ADP-106 14mm-1.5.
This was my first self service engine doing a oil and filter change on the Polo as well. I can see the Fumoto Drain Vavle making future services easy and pretty much mess free. Apart from a stubborn VW filter removal it was straight forward. That filter dropped oil all over the place!
I will be looking on EBay for those rare earth neodymium magnet to fit on the end of the oil filter as well....
I went to reset the service odo according to a post on this forum and fail! Do not know what I am doing wrong?

As for the dash its not set up for the home reset but it can be , good luck with that, i would rather use the correct software. And not from a business point of view i dont care really, too busy fixing broken ones
Expertise and experience no substitute for that mate. Thanks for the advice and tip. As always it is welcome. Cheers Al

Hi, yeah sorry you do need the adapter to bring it out a bit otherwise you'd never be able to screw it in. Just doing an oil change at the moment actually. Just hold a bottle over the nipple, open the tap and close it again just before the empty bottle is full and repeat with the next bottle. No mess at allRed 2006 Polo GTi : Forge Splitter - TIP - ITB - Forge Front & Rear Strut Bars - Dash Cubby - Fumoto Valve - Full Milltek Exhaust - PD160 Intake - K&N Panel - ECS Stage 1 Clutch - Seat RCA Bushes - APR Stage 1+
