  • K-MAC front Camber and Caster adjustable Top Mount Group Buy

    Hi all,

our brethren on uk-polos.net are getting together another group buy.

    This time for these

K-MAC Suspension Camber and Caster adjuster kits to suit VW

    here is the post;

    "Hi fellow 9n3 owners.

I have been talking with K-Mac about their adjustable top mounts and have agreed a group buy with them if I can find 5 buyers including myself.

Price is $480US a pair +Air express freight is $85.
Group buy price on 5 kits would be $380 per kit. Air freight would be $30 per kit. Total saving of $155 US per kit.

Please bear in mind that we will incur import tax so this cost will need to be split amounts us.
Once received I'm happy to post special delivery FOC.

I have chosen these as they can be used with any type of spring (stock, coilover, etc), you can make adjustments whilst they are on the car so no need to remover the shock and there is no cutting required.

Here is a link and some wording from their site.

K-MAC Suspension Camber and Caster adjuster kits to suit VW

QUICKEST / BIGGEST ADJUSTMENT And with K-MAC there is No jacking, strut removal, cutting/drilling of strut towers!

Simply replaces upper strut mounts - No modifications

Patented design allows Quickest & Biggest adjustment.

With K-MAC there is NO HEIGHT INCREASE.

    Can adjust accurately (under load).

Can install with factory diam. coils or adjustable coil overs.

Stage 2/3 INCLUDE EXTRA HEAVY DUTY self-aligning (no side-load),
    Pillow ball centers.(PTFE lined)

I would like to get theses ordered by February 15th so if you're in add you name to the list"

I thought we could get a delivery to Australia going off the back or something like that.

    Anyone keen??

I'm trying to look past the price.

I'm trying REALLY REALLY hard to look past the price.

1 1/8" degrees doesn't seem like much, yet they claim is the biggest?

                        Hoyhoy.

Anthony, did ya read this thread,,,http://www.vwwatercooled.com/forums/...ked-81440.html
                        But read all the posts.
Redliner several months ago questioned these,,,

The first problem I see with these is the fitting of the top plate as it is a full round circle, plus I just noticed that the stud pattern of the three holding studs are facing a difficult angle for ajustment.
No matter which way ya go, there is a lot of fiddling to do, cutting the strut top cap off to start with.
I personaly don't like any sandwich type set up for adjustment, there are just too many forces fighting against it to keep in place when going hard.

No I messaged him, I spoke to Pedders who told me they installed a set in a Audi TT and they were a disaster, they fell apart and ended up damaging the strut tower, i was told to stay away.

Lets hope my other person comes on and tells us his thoughts

I see ground control do a kit for the MK5, which is supposedly the same

I have had me eyes on these for a while, but i would need to change to a smaler ID spring, they look porn too
