Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Check under FAQ and DIY Polo thread, 1st page, Timbo has them listed.

Just a note for the mods - is it possible to minimise and/or review the number of posts which are based on ppl not taking the time to research/check previous posts or the FAQ thread? It clutters the forum with unnecessary, repetitive and dull threads. Not aimed at anyone, it just seems to be getting worse ...

We wish. Problem is ... we get a lot of new ppl who appear to be unaware of the search function and just post straight up without checking to see if the topic has been covered before. Case in point ... we ended up with about 10 posts about the Golf W12 when news was released ... because NO ONE () thought to see if it was already documented.

Put it this way ... we try to educate as best we can ... but excitement/concern over a particular topic is a strong motivator to post straight away without checking.

Perhaps I should take on the highly respected (?) role of official poster of "search is your friend, numbnuts" or the simpler but less informative "Repost!!" ??

Seriously, perhaps preface the FAQ/DIY thread with "LOOK HERE FIRST BEFORE POSTING" ?

Oh, and Johan...here is my post with the EBC part no you requested

Sorry guys, didn't except it to be under FAQ.

I've used search under 'EBC / Brakes / pads' and didn't have luck. Obviously, missing FAQ was a bad idea.

Apologies, but I did spend more than 15 mins reading all the posts under those...

Could include hints on broadening the search criteria, eg to search for EBC Green pads, also search for brakes, brake upgrades etc.
