Well after a couple of weeks with the car it flagged its CEL this weekend, im presuming from the SAI mod, so this new map has just become more interesting!

I might have had a light bulb moment, and if im right the guys with no Cel have fluked the outcome and havent known about it, came around after i had to test a certain circuit yesterday , stay tuned trying something today folks, and of course it may take a couple of days to re trigger if its a fail but i hope to report nothing back other than the remedy
Cheers

Just to let you all know, I have now got Phase 1 and 2 files with the SAI code turned off. I'll be running a Phase 2 file on my own car shortly.
I am expecting that Clicht will be the first one on the streets though.
Keen to see what you are up to though Jimmy

I light of Gavin's post above I share my apologies to all as it seems the reason I don't get a CEL is due to having a Custom Code, and not because of the resistors I used as Jimmy previously stated. It was a logical way of thinking at the time as no one knew the tune was the reason. Didn't mean to mislead the polo peeps and lucky for me resistors aren't a $100 modification as I would owe plenty of beer if that were the case

The resistor for the pump doesn't do anything, as the ECU couldn't monitor that amount of current and the pump has a relay controlling it. The ECU can detect if the relay is out of circuit, as I found out the other day while doing some fettling under the bonnet.
The ECU would throw different codes, if you didn't put resistors in for the N112 and 249 valves, as it would assume they were disconnected.

You would get different codes is the vac valves were disconnected for sure, and like i mentioned before the ecu does request the sai pump during cruise or even hot idle. Gav before 05 the ECU wont even trigger a CEL if you just leave the pump off but if you scan it the oncorrecT flow code will be there, but tighter emissions with ECU after 05 will in fact bring it on even though the engine runs well, my issue with that is other codes will get hidden if just left alone. Anyway great to hear the custom stuff can switch it off, thought as much, but im trying something else that has been overseen with most as ive read, not giving it away just yet, still if it doesnt work then Kevs gonna be a busy man!!!
Cheers

Kev says he can turn most codes off, he just needs the fault code from VCDS to find them.
I hope we both end up being very busy!!

Busy? mental as it is man, anyway must add i had an 03 2.4 BDV engined A4 that ended up getting an older 2.8 engine there fore the original stuff had sai and the old engine doesnt, it still runs 03 software therefore has all the codes as the pump is bleeding into mid air through a filter but no CEl, on an 03, i have no doubt if it was a b7 done the same way it would have a light.
Anyway stay tuned to see if my idea worx for the ones not getting it mapped out.
Im doing it tmw as today was SERIOUSLY off the charts.
Car will be in the traffic over xmas and that will be the acid test

Have done the repair and have driven the machine around for a while but as most know it can be days before the CEL appears, car going back to the customer to try and will report back , will give it a week or 2 in the traffic.
Fingers crossed, oh and FYI this car is running APR software
Dont really want to give anything away just yet just incase, but if it works there has been a right and wrong , thats all ill say for now
cheers
