Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

So very true dude! The earlier models had a offset of 43 and the later 2008+ models have a 38 offset IIRC.

No, it's only the GTi that came with 38mm offset wheels. The other models kept getting 43m offset wheels.

Even the 6R Polos have high offset wheels (46mm for the new GTI)

As for finding 5/100 wheels, a lot of us have ended up buying from o/s since you can only really get 17"+ 5/100 wheels here for the Suburus

GTI came out with ET43 and ET38.

Pretty sure Ant's stockers were 43 and mine were 38. Wierd.
              I'd love to know why.

Guys I have a set of WRX MY2006 OEM 17 inch alloy Enkie wheels. So what VW's will they fit? I have a 2008 Polo Gti will they fit it?
Did a trial fit and they will not go over the centre on front hubs.
                  Cheers Al

What's the offset?? Subi rims generally won't fit without spacers.
