Tyres for xmas

brother in law got yoko s drives on his xr5. he used to have goodyears on it (but not sure which ones) . the change was bloody huge, the yokos are bloody grippy compared to old rubber and seem to be pretty good in the wet and dry.
i still have marangonis zetas on my gti, and prob got another 10000kms left on them. so when the time comes i reckon i'll go yokos for the price - just checked ozzytyres and they are at 172 each.

Which Yoko's?

Looks like my next set of tires, almost due, done 35k on the stock connies, they dont quite have the bite on takeoff anymore

Heard lots of good things about the S drives, decent all rounder, gotta be practical, it rains like 60% of the year here in melbourne haha so semi slicks are not practical!

Having personally had RSR's on my stock wheels since 08, I can say that they are awesome, sticky, but very long lasting. I had mine continuously on my car between may 08 and April 09, did about 25,000km on them, and then I have had them on again between September and December this year and did about 6,000km on them, including some hard thriving in Tasmania last week.
Two are still very road legal, but the other two are done. I recommend them highly.

And by the way, $179 fitted is an awesome price!! I killed one in a pothole in Jan 09 and paid $300 fitted for the replacement!!

I just wanted to add that RSR's are great in the wet too. I never had an issue in the Townsville wet season with them, and and any other time in the wet. A great all round semi slick.
