APR Stage 1 Polo GTI - spark plugs replacement, how and what to use?

yes... I have tried to use the search function, but could not find a definitive answer...

my GTI is running APR Stage 1 tune, it is till running on stock spark plugs with 53,000km on the clock, so I figured it is about time to change the plugs to keep it healthy...

but there is a whole lump of crap (SAI?) on top of the rocker cover, do I have to disassemble everything before I get get to the plugs? Or just undo a few bolts that are holding them to the rocker cover, and then they can just be pushed to the side?

and what sort of plugs should I choose? would you guys recommend a specific model/brand? I read somewhere for tuned GTIs the gap should be narrower than stock? do I have to go for the ultra expensive iridium plugs or just a set of normal plugs?

You will be fine using new standard plugs. With the standard gap.

You only need to undo the bolts holding down the vacuum reservoir. Leave it all connected and move it out of the way.

the website says PFR6Q, only Autobahn stocks it in Canberra, and they want $25 for EACH PLUG!!!!

is it just me or it seems extremely expensive?!!?!

there is a Bosch alternative that Repco stocks, for about 8 bux each, will there be any major difference if I go with the cheaper Bosch?

APR Stage 1 Polo GTI - spark plugs replacement, how and what to use?

Try Bosch FR5DTC. Im using them and they're one step colder and I'm very happy with them..they're 3 prong plugs so can't do anything with gaps. Guys on audizine ran as high as 37psi without issues.

Could get them through Bosch AU's online store for about 5-6bucks each.
