Trying to find a GTI - so damn hard!

After waving a very sad goodbye to my GTI some time ago alot has happened in my life and now im on the lookout for either a Polo or Golf GTI, but i was surprised to find so few 9n GTIs for sale in QLD, they are as rare as hens teeth, and the ones that are for sale (3) are over priced if you ask me.

Sigh i will keep watching the adverts and see what comes up, hoping i can get back into this forum section soon though!

At least in QLD u have 3 with low low kms which is nice, down here in sydney they all have high kms! what spec are you looking for and how much do u wanna spend? ive had a look at a few down here and surprisingly the one with the highest kms has been the best. having owned one before, what do you think is the max kms you should buy a second hand one for?

Im selling a nice strong one with a KO4 and lots of other mods, check out in the for sale section mate, Brisbane southside

Yeah i did see that, there are a lot more available in NSW, i even looked into the hasstle of bringing one accross the border but after reading alot i thought better of it. Max Ks, ummm not sure really, only ever had a low KM one. Me personally i dont want anything over 100k.

Thanks jmac, i did have a look at the classified section on here and saw the one you listed and got excited but its too higher KM for my liking and dont like the wheels.

Yeah ks are high, thats fair enough, wouldnt scare me at all but you got to buy what you think is right for sure, and i agree i dont like the wheels either but thats easy fixed, change the wheels, if i could find spare resources i would have it anyway

Around what km mark are you looking for?? I've done 121,000 in 5 years, and I don't think that's too high on a car of that age.

Probably anything under 100k really for me, but would rule out anything over 150k. But from what i know these cars handle the KMs well anyway, so its no big drama.

Lukeoly.... I love your white Polo GTi. I brought my Black Polo GTi in August 2010 and flew to Sydney did the deal then straight to RTA and rego transfered into my name with Qld address, 1.30pm left Sydney and got to Brisbane before midnight. Yes I was brash and took a risk, but it paid off and the seller was really honest about the car apart from bumper damage I missed in my inspection on the run. I immeadiately took it on a holiday tour to Dubbo, Melbourne, on the Spirit of Tassie over 4800 ks around Tassie and back to Melbourne to ACT then home to Brisbane. I am wrapped in the Polo apart except it is Black, hate black, but it was priced so well I had to buy it and put up with color. Do your research and buy interstate with confidence. Transfer was quite ok just ask RTA and QT lots of questions and ring them again to check details as you go. Cheers Al
