  • Leaking fluid near control arm

So, I went underneath the car today to attempt to check on my wheel bearings, which I suspected to be failing as it is making a humming/whining sound when going above 60km/h and only to gets louder when the speed increases (And louder when turning one way, and less if turning the louder) Anyway, I discovered this leak on the front right hand side. It seems to me it's the boot of the control arm? there's a constant yellow fluid that is leaking from it.

It was only the beginning of the year when I replaced the control arm bushings and CV joint but that won't be related to this I presume?

Does anyone know what this might be? And whether it could have related to the (what I think is) wheel bearing noise?

    Thank you.

Your inner cv joint rubber boot is leaking, or is it the rack boot. Hard to tell from the picture on the tablet.

Looks like the steering rack boot is split.

            Thanks Transporter!

I guess it's off to the dealer tomorrow for a quote (of the new Toyota 86!)
