Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    Attention Melbourne GTI peeps! Anyone able to assist a potential future owner :)?

    Hey guys I'm a prospective future owner that has his eye on this gti, which seems like a steal. Only thing is I'm up in brisbane and it's down in Melbourne! I have a few friends in Melbourne that I was going to get to check it out but unfortunately they are all a bit unknowledgeable when it comes to cars. So I was wondering if for a small reward one of you gti experienced fellas down south could have a look and report back to me, if it checks out I'll fly down and drive it up also any initial opinions/impressions from the ad would be great. Let me know guys

        Good luck with the purchase.

        Personally, a car of that age / kms, you want someone to have a good look at the service book, its due (or overdue) for the timing belt change (tensioner and other parts to be done at same time).

        Oh, and if you can stretch your budget, Allegiance's car is worth the extra spend.
