Has anyone sold one recently? What sort of interest did you get on it? Take a long time to sell?

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Selling the Polo GTI

If it helps I recently bought a Polo. The bloke I bought it from said he had quite a lot of interest (3 offers, which were fairly low ball but) As far as I know, it was for sale for a little over a month. Then it all depends on the condition of yours, the mods might deter some buyers but the buyer would be getting some serious bang for buck!

Anyone who doesn't buy your Polo is stupid haha! It's gorgeous!
Saying that, I'm pretty sure when I sell mine I'm going to put it back to stock (minus a few things) just to lower the price more, I'd probably sell mine for well under $10k stock, just cause no one seems to want Polos in Australia! They're a small, cute, girls car to most Australian males - in Europe it's a completely different story.2019 132TSI Tiguan

It took me about a month to sell mine with all mods listed in the sale. I had a few time wasters pending the sale of their own cars. Nothing eventuated with those. Even received a few requests for a swap lol yeah no thanks!
The guy who bought it didn't stuff around, named his price, switched rego that day and car was his the next.
Good luck with the sale of your polo

and by the way I'm only speaking from what I've seen on VWW - Polo is the entry level VW, so no one on this forum will buy a Polo, because they either have one or something better. From a car sales perspective they could be worth $19+ who knows, I'm just talking from what I've seen on VWW in the past 12 months or so.2019 132TSI Tiguan

Depending on all your mods and what the condition of the car is, I'd say you'll probably get around $15K max
you may be lucky and get what you want, who knows?
Just be prepared that you might be sitting on it for a while. Did you offer it in as a trade? what did they offer for it?

Quite seriously, Daryl, I'd keep it unless you really need the bigger car. The depreciation on a new MkVI Golf GTi is going to be MASSIVE since it is an outgoing model (eg, same versions/age of my runnout TDi can now on car sales for about 65% of the heavily discounted price that I paid for mine - makes them about 50% of the original price)Resident grumpy old fart
