    You absolutely must get leather.

It makes so much difference to the interior of the car and leathers of today are much better made than that of the past. Mine is 5~6 years old and still in perfect nick.

Once you get your Pog flashed you'll forget all about the 207.

no i was judging by what i saw in photos. i'll obviously will check out both, though. there's 2 VW dealerships nearby so there's bound to be a few leather cars i can check out properly.

        i reckon i absolutely will

one thing i didn't like about the 207 GTi is that there's no indication of its GTi status anywhere except the back of the car. nothing on the grille, nothing on the steering wheel and nothing on the seats. i read a review about this, and the journalist criticised the lack of badges in the cabin: "it's important to be reminded you're driving a GTi when you're stuck in traffic".

ok so where do "Pog" and "Pogo" come from?

cloth for me, the traditional gti pattern on the seat i couodnt resist...
leather would be good though in cold winter, but not hot summer.

17s nice, but how much does dealer charge u? maybe cheaper to go after market. bbs?

i still havent seen one polo one here lowered/DUMPED. those things need 3-4 inches on the back, do it and your ride will look hot. Def go for the leather.

The only downside to leather is hot, sunny days. I didn't get leather for that very reason (well, that, and the fact that I actually think the Interlagos trim looks the 'bees knees' )

I've been in many a leather-trimmed car, and none have ever failed to attempt to give your arse third degree burns if left in the sun for a reasonable period of time. I'd imagine if you were wearing shorts, it could actually be quite painful.

Cheap tip: when you get out of the car, push the backrest forward

More expensive tip: get a sunscreen for the front window. It'll protect the dash, too

i have the cloth seats as they are not hot in summer and you don't slide around on the leather either.

                        Welcome to the forum,
I didint go leather i didnt like the idea of slipping and sliding in them when on the track . Wheel VW charge way too much off the shelf for thier wheels for the same price a set of O.Z. would be insain on the polo and super light.
I hope the polo is the right car for you.
                        Cheers Rob

Warm climate ... no need for heated seats.

if there was an option of leather without heating, i'd jump at it. would be cheaper too.
