  • THS group buy

    Hi All,

I have decided that I am going to buy a THS cooler (& forge pipes).
However I thought I would also open it up to anyone else that is keen.

I will be contacting THS (and forge), and trying to see what discounts we can get.

If some pre-negotiations have already occureed, then apologies for jumping the line, and I will be happy to hand over to yourself.

If however there have been no further discussions with THS, then I will call them a start the ball rolling.

Just out of interest, who is keen....if no-one, then thats OK too, as I will need to contact THS either way.

I'm interested in the piping kit, either procuring locally (bit more effort) or the Forge kit (much more expensive).

if you want to go for the cooler straight away
Hold off on the Forge Gear for now, as they will need to be modified, also i am currently putting a kit together for all the pips silicone and clamps.
      Keep in contact with this.

Do the cores come with the required OEM brackets to mount it?

                  Ideally something like this

from Carformance:FSI/TSI MAP Sensor Flange - Stainless Steel Aluminium custom intercooler pipes plumbing weld mounting bung Aluminium threaded thread

I have not come across many good fabricated options, so it might be easiest to get the bends in a group and we can get them done by someone locally. mounted into a 50mm section would work best with the kit piping sizes.

Clicht, sorry for hijacking your FMIC thread with the piping details. Not seeing as much interest for the THS or Seat coolers as I had expected... Any bites?

Bit of bad timing with the UR bracing group buy. I'm also sorting out brakes.

To do the front mount, I'd be doing the dump pipe at the same time and a stage 2 retune which makes for quite an expensive month.

yip, and thats why I did not buy any UR braces....as much as I would loved to have.
Noone, if its just us, it would make no sense trying for a group buy, as its only 2, and you are in Syd.
Happy to still try negotiate a discount on the cooler, but if we cannot get discount, we may just have to place an order ourselves.

The FMIC can go on alone, then do the Downpipe and tune the following month? Or get a spacer for the lambda probe to tide you over.
                          Job sorted!!

                              Agreed.

Intercooler can happen any old time, before the tune. Grab a spacer for your exhaust and do the cat at the same time, just before you get your tune, then dump the spacer (or flog it on here for a few quid). Carformance (Greg) has the Magnaflow cats at a good price if your local Zorst shop does not do good brands.

Not saying the THS isn't as good, but is there a reason you would get it over the cheaper Seat core? We will know more about the THS core once Redliner puts his on and hopefully does a Dyno or something.
