Anyway it happened, looking forward to getting some track time in at Sandown soon, was fun to hang out with Greg also
Well done Greg. Great to hear there's a few polo's getting regular track action. Almost warrants a lessons learned thread from track work.
I did a 1:03.13 at Lakeside on Saturday afternoon. Third session there were only 3 or 4 of us on the track, 4th session I didn't see anyone and cranked out lap PB's and sector PB's. I got the 63.1 on the 3rd lap (with no sector PB's), was on plan for a 62.6 - 62.8 on the 4th lap with 2 sector PB's but had a slide on eastern loop hairpin losing ~0.6sLooking at my sector splits, there's a theoretical lap time of 62.1. So will keep working on my lines and improving my braking. Am also going to do more research and better learn about tyre temps and pressures. starting to get serious
Video is in my thread.
I also buggered the turbo bolts again, so back to the workshop.Track Car: 06 Polo GTI Red Devil mkII

I've only just started to get REALLY serious about late braking as getting that wrong screws everything else up. Since I seemed to have plateaued, I decided it was time to try braking for a bit more (less actually) time and it seems to be working.
I was gutted about the way Troy's day went since I was the one who put him on to this track day. I was hoping he'd get some really quick runs with all the work he's put into his car, recently
We should start a new performance tracking thread since Anthony isn't around anymore to update our results.Last edited by kaanage; 13-10-2014, 08:22 PM.Resident grumpy old fart

I couldn't improve on this in the next session and the last session was used to test my reverse staggered Advan 048 fitmentResident grumpy old fart
