Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Meow (replace the Cat)

    Looking to replace my Cat.

Thinking of supporting local, but going for a quality brand.

Magnaflow 2.5 200 cell? Any reason not to go down this path?

Greg @ Carformance sells them: Magnaflow 2.5" High-Flow Catalytic cat Converter

Looking for an o2 spacer as well, have been advised to get one with an angle to it so its not going to conflict with other guff down there...

The 200 cell is perfect, and magnaflow is very decent.
Just a heads up, even with an o2 spacer, there is a chance that the cel comes on after some km's

You'll def need to offset the O2 sensor, mine is pretty close to the tunnel even on an angle...
Can't remember, do you have a tune? Not sure on the others but APR tune, no CEL.

Any benefit or loss in going 2.25 or 3 inch design? Would a zorst shop still be able to work with the Chang over easily enough?
Stock exhaust with 2.5 dump already...

Since you have 2.5 go with the same size. Even with my 3" dp, I would go down to 2.5 and keep it 2.5 through out. This likely will give you the best of balanced torque and power. My decat GTI smells and I probably will go down this route in the future. Mine is revo stage 2 and with decat and sensor in place, no problem with CEL as I believe it's deleted from sensor point of view.
          06 Polo GTI - REVO Stage 2 = 140kw @ wheels.
06 Golf GTI - Bluefin Stage 1 blacked out with ED30 theme, leather, xenon, etc.
