sounds like VW are reluctant to release them without first fitting them to future production runs. ..end of next year at earliestmaybe we should have a crack at it ourselves, ie modifying Golf GTi lower grill...
EDIT just emailed VW Aust about it. will relay their response.Last edited by GT3; 27-11-2007, 01:57 PM.

latest on custom made honeycomb lower grill...
gf is german so she was able to read the entire Polo9N.info thread - apparantly 4 guys in germany have attempted the mod, ...and failedit's an extremely tricky mod, biggest challenges are 1. removing and getting access to the lower grills (the retaing clips tend to break, plus paint work can mark on removal) 2. best way to access grills is removal of front end to access and modify grills 3. difficulty in finding a way to get honeycomb inserts to ajoin securely (particularly side grills).
the guy with the sliver GTI eventually nailed it, but claims it drove him around the bend lol (guy is a professional, spent total 150hrs to achieve a perfect finish). we're waiting on the full description (with photos) and will translate the DIY instructions and post a thread on it. that way, we can learn from the german experience, discuss it, and possibly come up with an easier way.Last edited by GT3; 28-11-2007, 10:12 AM.

just got an email from the owner of the silver polo.
"I build them on my own, it is not possible to buy them anywhere, but here is a link to a thread where i`ve posted some pics of how i did it. Hope it will help you, if you have more questions about it, feel free to contact me."
This is the link to the DIY
