    I know thee are heaps of threads. Long story short - those who have them (or Billys either) what are your thoughts? worth it? I prefer good handling to power so shocks before tune for me. The standard Polo is not sharp enough for me. I like go-cart sharp. I don't really care about ride comfort.

    Also, just the new front sway bar as well? Is the rear really necessary for street driving? I have the seat control arms (lovely) and front strut brace (worthwhile).

    I have V1s on my S3, really like them. Nicely stiffened up from standard. I'd say they were sharp but anti-roll bars would take it further.

    I always thought that the Neuspeed ones on my MK1 GTI were too stiff and turned a great handling car on dry roads, into a twitchy, ditch finding monster in the wet.

      If you want razor sharp for street I would recommend

      1. Wiechers "steel" front strut brace
      2. Wiechers steel lower brace
      3. Whiteline adjustable front sway bar 22mm set on medium
      4. Seat solid rear wishbone bushes which you have
      5. Your choice of any coilover

      Front end handling results are;

      massively increased traction. Very, very sharp and direct steering. Very smooth WOT power delivery. No understeer and total confidence when pushing hard. In other words fun, fun, fun

      Would also recommend a rear sway bar and I can't comment but hear very good things about rear strut braces.

        The V1s are pretty good. They do what it says on the packet. Firmer, balanced ride compared to stock, height adjustable. I've found mine to be reliable and good. Run then too low and they get harsh but the same goes for all. Build quality is obviously solid but given we don't salt roads in Australia and you're only looking for something to use on the street, it's not a big selling point over the competitors.

        Pick your coilovers based on colour, brand rep points or price. Whichever you choose, pair them with a few select other handling mods (and don't forget good tyres among those) like Anthony suggested, and enjoy the great car the Polo can be.

          I have KW's with both sways, tried all combinations and currently have both on soft with fairly low tyre pressure.

          I'd also think about wheels and tyres.

            Thanks guys. You can't beat suspension mods. I had (have..) a Charade I spent $4000 in total on suspension/wheels/tyres. This thing killed (oldish) Porsches and all sorts of exotica through twisties with a standard 1.3. And gee that MRT intake sounded lovely in a confined area.
