prep for a long road trip

None at all... I got more red dust on the car after the 2009 Sydney dust storm than I did on both my trips through the Center of Australia. In the picture above, you can see how clean the car is after 3 days driving.

That's what I thought looking at the pictures.. made me wonder. Any driving off sealed roads?

None at all. All of the roads I mentioned are two lane sealed roads. The Stuart and Barkley highways are very well maintained. These roads are national highways, not bull dust covered goat trails. Just remember, up to 2007, these roads had open speed limits.

If only they still did. Long, straight and pretty dull.
