  • Andy's lower Polo GTI

An updated pic of my car with the Eibach Pro Kit springs I had fitted last week - they only dropped it 20mm but it made a nice subtle difference. I put this in the general photo section too, but thought I'd put it here as well in case anyone is considering these springs and wants to know how they look. There's no noticable reduction in ride quality (stock set-up is pretty rough to begin with) but definately helps with body roll - and it looks better .

I think the difference would be more noticeable if the photos were taken from the same distance. How much for the springs and how for the fitting???

hot looking 3dr polo gti!!! but for the cost of the springs and fitting v the difference in the looks is not worth it imo! my motto is-

if it aint scrubbin,it aint dubbin!!!

it will settle over time and still look a lot lower than it is now - i think it looks more right ie the gap between tyre and fender/tyre guard

Yeah Eibach do a great marketing job in convincing ppl their springs are vastly superior - so many ppl are prepared to pay 3 times the cost of comparable springs. I don't question the quality of them, but I've seen them fitted on a few polos now and they barely drop the car at all.

Got the springs for $450 (they knocked off the GST for me) and fitting/allignment (toe out changed heaps) $200.

If it settles down a bit lower I can't say I'd be disappointed, but from what I can tell (I spoke to quite a few suspension suppliers) this is about as low as you can go on the Polo without coilovers (couldn't justify them) - also, I understand that the front set up doesn't really appreciate getting dumped too severely (alters handling a fair bit apparently).

I'm happy with it. It does look better in the flesh - the rims are tucked away nicely.

I'm not sure that they're 3 times more expensive (don't know of any comparable springs for less than $200 ) and they dropped it as far as claimed - each to their own I guess. Me, I'm happy with full-lock turning, no front-end scraping and a subtle improvement on stance.

$450 is a great price. I have only been quoted around the $600 mark in Brisbane. What is the name of your supplier?

awesome, if u achieved what u were after, then that's all that matters. my remarks were directed at Eibach.

Maybe Melbourne's closer to Germany than Brissie? I got prices ranging from $550 - $680 from about 4 different suppliers. In the end I went to ToPerformance and tried the ol' "...they said they could do it for $500'', and suprisingly they said they could do that for me too . (one of the other places was called GT Suspension, sorry I can't remember the other couple, or who gave what price).

Then I got a nice surprise when I had them installed and they were even cheaper - they must have really liked my Polo (or really thought it needed lowering?). Maybe I got lucky, but I didn't ask too many questions . I think it helped that they had some in stock and didn't have to order them in especially.
