i doubt they could blame any failures on this. its not a radical change. VW mounts are just built for comfort instead of speed.

I can't really tell much difference -- just slightly more vibration as the engine kicks at start-up, and also slightly if the motor labours at all...which is just what I was after. I was slightly worried there might be more vibration.

Just what the doctor ordered, Guy

As to the observed 'improved' gear change phenomenon -- obviously due to some mass to energy transformation in the space-time continuum -- I'm buggered if I can understand how there could be, nor can I feel, any improvement in the Pog's cable gearshift mechanism!

The real test will be to see how much this has reduced engine movement, which has potential to cause some problems with the Pog, which I will post about soon. So I'm keen to see mine on a dyno (anyone who has seen the Pog dynoed will know what I mean -- with the stock dogbone, the engine moves about...quite....disturbingly

If it reduces that movement, and its side-effects, this is a must-have improvement

Good to hear the extra vibrations really arent too bad. this was my main concern with getting the new mount, I have been in some cars (sp20's) with hard engine mounts and the idle is so rough it rattles the dashboard.

As far as engine movement is concerned, watch my polo on the dyno as below, there is quite a bit of undesirable movement as you can see! no wonder the shifter cables don't cope well...

howver, if you think that is bad, watch what happens to an mps3. I can see why they had engine mount failures.

Should this be done after or before LSD?

If you mean as in before considering an LSD as a mod, the answer is yes; if you mean 'I am getting an LSD fitted', then get this at the same time.

So the answer is yes -- this is probably a must-have if you are doing any serious track work

                    I'm intrested to know...

I have the issue, where on occasion, my pog will grind / crunch going 2nd to 3rd when shifting fast, at high revs. Almost as if the clutch doesn't fully disengage... its not a HUGE issue, its always shifts, just makes a crunch going in, i'd say its happened 20 times in the last 15,000 k's. It doesn't sound to good, and i can imagine it isn't too good for the gear box.

If anyone who has got this mount has had this problem in the past, and knows if this fixes, it... i'd be very intrested.

This would be good to know. I have the same problem but VW just seem to replace the box if it happens.

Mate if you cant feel the difference i think you should drive one with standard mount again. But then again you could be the only one with a perfect gearbox.

Im reallly tempted to get one soon. Crunching first to second is starting to annoy me tho.

The crunching happens rarely for me, and 2nd to 3rd, i can't be arsed going through the hassle of replacing...

I'm a bit surprised by how many pog dudes are coping crunches b/n gears I've never encountered it, and if I did I wouldn't tolerate it for long. It may be bc I've got the vibe for gear changes and I'm down with the "mass to energy transformation in the space-time continuum"
