warranty problems

Just like to know if u guys have had any warranty issues.
Ive had plenty
1. a/c system, back to dealer 6 times over 10 months
2. air bag controller replaced
3. carpets replaced
4. power window problems
5.things getting broken and or go missing during service

I told them what the problem was and they didnt listen

i haven't had any warrenty claim problems yet,

i believe my heater has stopped working although ive been too busy to take it back and im not using the heater atm anyway so its not a big issue.

il see how they handle it when i take it back

if the service people at that dealer dont listen then it doesnt sound like the dealer is fine. Not havin a go. Just saying what I would, and have done with my GTI.

I have had both O2 Sensors replaced because the engine warning light came on. Also a leaky Radiator replaced.

Best to search through this thread for who has had what problems.

I agree with Tim. I had two or three nasty experiences with a dealer services dept where i had:

1. a 'genuine accessory' tow bar was fitted and the car was returned to me with a large gouge in the bumper, which was not even re fixed to the car propery, 2cm out of position

2. asked for a globe in the dashboard to be replaced. Car was retuned to me with the dash not refitted properly, ie airvent louvres were not in position, and falling out.

Needless to say, i changed to a different workshop.

It's broken again, so I've contacted VW customer assistance to deal with it.

Only thing I've had go wroung is the passenger-side wing mirror fell out of the mount. Luckily I was there to catch it. Fixed & fine (by the stealer).

What sort of problem was it?

My driver's side is making noise coming down.. moves fine, and makes grating noise... sounds like something is stuck.

However, this doesn't happen all the time and it's intermittent. At the moment, it sounds normal.... wonder if something is starting to go?

Or is there something loose...

What sort of problem was it?

When you wind up the window, there is a safety function to wind it back down if it discovers something in the way (head, hand... that kind of thing).

The issue is that the window goes up... hits the top of the door... thinks it's a head... goes back down. To get it back up you now have to HOLD the switch up (safety feature also disables the one touch-up) within the next 10 seconds or so, otherwise after holding it up... it hits the top and goes back down again.

Soft reset, hard reset, replace motor, then replace the whole system (whatever that entails) - and it's doing it again.

What prob did you havew with the aircon, mine is cool, not cold, and take about 1 hour to cool the car down on highest speed and recirc, havnt had a chance to get to a dealer yet.

Warranty

Ihave had my 1.9l DSG c/line now for some time, nearly 15k.... & wheel balance at 4k the only incident. Ive come from a 2001 C/dore.. you dont know what warranty issues are until you own one of them...... VW = trouble free motoring. bazz

here is my list:
1. wheel aligment x 3 in 2 weeks, they cant get it right?
2. faulty fog light switch, light stay on when its mean to be off
3. rattling sound in the boot, they said they fixed it, but hell no
4. broken & rusting door seal, fixed last week.
5. just find out that my doors wont lock itself...wtf. VW assist coming right now at mid night...

its a excellent car to drive. but consider that i only hav the car for 3 months, reliable issues seems to be a problem...

been very disappointing with vw's dealer as well. quality of service is crap. no one listen. last week when i pick up the car, found a seat cover on the seat! and rubbish everywhere...

a guy rock up, but he said he's not allow to dismental the door. wtf, why bother to come... back to dealer tmr...
