BF Goodrich GForce sport - fcking awesomely progressive and predictable.

plenty of warning when they're going to go, and when they do, they slide very slowly, none of this "tyres break and you're in a ditch" stuff.

great treadwear and actual longevity, and last set i got was $115 a corner balanced and fitted.

i rate them very highly, and in fact i will be putting my two spare ones on the back of my car this week - long story short, i've come to realise that it's a bit of a waste to run my current fronts, daily.

Don't think they will come into his budget but have heard good things about the 36's.

KU36, if in your budget is a bang for buck tyre.

In the dry, the grip levels are there. Generally they need heat into them to get them going, but a fantastic tyre. Great tread life and "slick" tyre pattern. Unfortunately, in the wet is where this tyre lacks. Then again, you drive slow in the wet I assume. Also road noise is evident.

By all means, this is not a "track tyre" or "semi-slick" tyre as most reviews you google will tell you.

ku36 = loves to aquaplane, from word of mouth.

not being confrontational AT ALL, but merely in the spirit of discussion....

what do you (and anyone else, for that matter), refer to when saying "semi slick"?

because i think, on aussie forums, that there seems to be a synonymity between the two, and yet my webs reading would suggest otherwise....

Go the KU 39's. Best bang for buck in my opinion. I've got them on my Polo and wet roads are like dry roads with them on. I like them so much I just bought a set on EBay 225/45/17 for the Bora for $170 each delivered.

From what I have read the KU36 is very good, but not great in the wet which is why I opted for the KU31, seems like a better all rounder. I don't track my car so it's road use only, depends on your preference I guess.

Have not read anything about the KU39.

On my golf I had KU-31 's (235/45 R17) and loved them. Quiet, ample grip in wet and dry. I then put on a pair of Dunlop sp sport 2000's and they were rubbish! On the polo now I have stock Dunlop SP Sport Maxx and they noisy too, decent grip but not confidence inspiringly so.

Got some KU-31's on the front and they are great. Paid $150 each, cheapest I could find. Will def be putting them on all round when I need 2 more.

Glad you like them, if you slide around too much they seem to loose grip, but for general suburban driving and twisties at 90%, great for the money.

I found a few PSI makes a big difference, I'm now rolling on 33 in the front and around 30 in the rear. Good for comfort and still good grip. Best grip I found was closer to 40PSI.
