6th Gear?

I recently bought my Polo GTi and absolutely loving it!

When I was looking at the ones available and aftermarket parts/mods I am sure I came across a company somewhere in Eastern Europe (i think) that sold an extra gear with various parts that bolt onto the side of the 5 speed manual gearbox, keeping the existing gearbox all as standard and just adding the extra gear.

However, I can't for the life of me find anything like that now that I've bought the car and it's driving me crazy! Does anyone have any ideas of where I can look or any other options?

Some o/s Polos got the 02M 6 speed box but it's a fair bit heavier

I am pretty sure KAPS in Czech Republic did the conversion kits a few years ago but this seems to be the only VW box they have listed now;

I'll be going for the strenghend 5 speed syncro set with taller ratios from sqs

I wish they could do a dog box conversion along with that (plus I'd like the taller 1st and 2nd they offer for the TDi version but would like to keep 3rd, 4th & 5th as is - see the spreadsheet http://www.sqsracing.com/produkt/276...ng-competition)

Thanks for the great links everyone. I knew there was something out there, I'll look into it a bit more - would be great to have that extra gear for all the highway driving.

Are there different gearbox options/codes for the 2006 9N 1.8 Polo GTi? If so, where do I look to find what code mine is?

Post number 2 mentions the 02M box, and I'm am sure I have seen a UK Polo GTI fitted with and 02S.
