best way to go about it is to make an assessment about how you will 'realistically' use your car. if you only use a track occasionally and spend most of your time on the road, then going big rotors and hard pads will be overkill. most companies make performance/track pad as well as race pads, but many just jump into race pads and rotors without giving it much thought. EBC Greens are ok and cost half the price of Ferodo - Ferodo are good, 2500s are popular but are more race orientated and will wear rotors quickly. It seems we're a bit limited on what we can get for the polo gti (unless you go big brakes kits, and big bucks).
