  • new HU installed

    hi all,
just DIY installed my new HU, apline iDA-X001, few issues as fillow:

    1. HU stay on when key is out. ppl mention that wiring ignition and illum wire to ciggarette lighter will solve this problem?
    2. couldnt read iPod? error msg "connection error, connection cable does not support this iPod?"
i got 30gb iPod video, anyone can help

i will take some pictures and do up a step by step procedure later for ppl who like to upgrade their system in the future.

There is no ignition switching wire. Using the cigarette lighter power wire works for this as it is turned on and off with the ignition. You can get the illumination signal from the cigarette lighter too.

I've been thinking about looking at where the power window power comes from as you can still use them until you open the car door, this would replicate the factory behaviour.
